Before anyone goes buying that one in Australia, just as a warning, it's pretty clearly a counterfeit. So you never know what sort of chickenshit germs might be hiding in the feathers. Most likely this is just stuffed with whatever feathers are around.

Unfortunately, all these kinds of jackets are the same. They may look real nice in the pictures, but they're certainly very different when you have them in front of you, unfortunately.

It's definitely a different, but mutual niche for some people. I think what ties in people on this forum with people that love down jackets is the visual aspect of the material, but if you come from one side exclusively, and try the other, it can be a weirdly different feeling. I love my duvetica jacket where I can sip it past my head like a hood and it feels soft and squishy, but the tackiness of the material is a deterrent for me. If you can find quality cheap, go for it.
