I'm not sure that I could handle the latex vac bed as I think it may be too claustrophobic.

I cannot see how you could obtain the same 'tightness' with satin.

However it is certainly worth a try; I use a satin duvet cover which I turned inside out to feel the satin and then put it over my head.
