I think these betsy&adam/cache dresses will be copies of dresses that are real silk, much like a lot of the morgan&co ones are copies of jovani silk ones etc

As Freddie says though the polyester these ones are made of is brilliant, almost as good as Pearce fionda or monsoon silk ones here in the uk

Hi Titus. Did you read the thread "Why do we love silk / satin???" ?

In it, I suggested that a fetish is very probably something we are born with, which could make it extremely difficult to "give up". I thought that I could/would "grow out of it" when I left home to join the RN. Although there were longish periods when I couldn't indulge my fetish or even much time to think about it, it never really left me. As soon as I was able to, I went back to it.

I would hope that by following the various threads on here that you can come to realise that you have nothing to feel guilty about. I too have gone through periods of guilt/self loathing/disgust but not any more. I would be embarrassed if a relative somehow caught me unawares and managed to get in here but to be honest, I'm more ashamed of the fact that I would be embarrassed.

I believe that trying to give up your fetish could cause you the same degree of anguish as, for example, a young gay guy trying to be straight.

I'm 43. I just read those posts and there seems to be some disagreement. Far be it for me to judge others, but I can only say for myself, that I hope to God that this isn't something I was born with, but rather something I can move on from. It effects my life and relationships because of the lying and deception that I have to keep up to carry it on. I truely felt free for the first few years until it started creeping back in - started by looking but not touching, then touching but not buying, then buying and wearing and so forth.

By the way, my package arrived this morning. I opened it up, and it looked great. I locked my office door and tried it on. let's just say I was limp. I was not fulfilled by this. In fact I feel even more weak and alone than I usually do that leads to me doing this.

What gave you the impression that Titus "looked down on us"? He was expressing some self disgust if anything. None of us know what situation he finds himself in. It could be anything. Perhaps I can have a bit more empathy because, being, (as I believe I am,) somewhat older than both yourself and PDL, I have had more experience of life's ups and downs.

There have been times in my life when I've felt a little like what he appears to be going through. Had a medium such as this been around when I was a lot younger I could imagine myself "lurking" around, not sure what I was feeling, trying to decide what I wanted to do, looking for people that I felt shared my feelings and maybe hoping for some advice and perhaps a sympathetic ear. It could be that I arrived here just as a relationship was getting shaky or maybe I thought that someone at work had seen something. Any number of things could be going on.

To encounter a "wise old sage" like PDL, (and yourself, as you're not exactly blessed with an over abundance of tact let's face it,) wouldn't have done a great deal to help me sort things out.

I like to think that this forum can provide a lot more than simply entertainment. Plus, I guess that I just can't help myself from trying to right what I see as an injustice.

Let's hope that the less than sympathetic posts by yourself and PDL haven't pushed this bloke over the edge.
