Awesome Richy! I've bought from charity shops before and have got odd looks at times from the straight laced older female or male cashier...with my items of shiny stuff!! Very few of my satin items are new....I like the thought that someone else wore them before me. I have a skirt quite like that...but not as nice...and I e.joy wearing it as a slip / underwear....under my vanilla, dull, cotton day clothes

I go to the same shop just about every week, there's pretty much something there every time, I just pick up the item and confidently put it on the counter!
You're absolutely right about the feeling of it being worn by someone before, it's seems so much better than a brand new one.

Some of those odd looks might just be in your imagination. Most people are too busy with their own lives to even notice what you are buying or wearing.
I used to worry about what the cashiers and shop keepers would think, and would invent excuses of buying them for my wife. Now I just go straight to the counter with my purchases, smile and greet them with a casual "Hello". Most of them just greet me back. Some of them even offered to say what a good deal I got on those dresses

Here's my latest 3 additions...first is a 1940's silver satin suit...second is a 1950's ivory satin wedding skirt...third is a 1970's purple satin ball skirt.

That skirt suit looks incredible too. Very sexy.
