For me the two films that influenced me the most were
Deborah Kerr dancing with Yul Brynner in The King and I
Hence my love of huge 40s satin bridal gowns with long trains.
Then the film Tommy where Ann Margaret gets smothered in
baked beans and chocolate sauce in a satin covered bedroom
covering everything in a sticky mess hence my love of messing satin till ruined
Loads of others but too many to list where satin is ruined but hey thats just me

That scene in Casablanca is one of the many reasons I love that movie. That is one of the most sexy satin gowns ever made. They colorized the movie and in the color version the satin gown is a baby blue color. I would pay a hefty price to buy that gown if I could. They just don't make satin like that anymore. That's one of the reasons I love satin bridal gowns from the 40's. I have come to the conclusion that the one reasons we can't find those type of satin gowns is that unlike wedding gowns there was no reason to preserve them. Just think of all of the beautiful satin bridesmaid gowns and ballgowns that were just thrown away, tears me up.

Look out for the movie " My man Godfrey", Gail Patrick wears a fantastic satin dress in the movie, if you google it there is a great still shot of her sitting down in the dress. Another classic is the gown Lauren Bacall wore in the Big Sleep.

I totally agree Seasideshow those are 2 of the most sexy satin gowns I've ever seen. There is one other movie that has the most beautiful black satin gown and that is the Movie Gilda staring Rita Hayworth. She dances and sings wearing the silkiest most shimmering black satin gown with long black satin gloves.

Here's the two dresses from the movies, and an interesting pic of Melissa Joan Hart from Sabrina the teenage witch, I think it was a photo shoot not from a still from an episode.

Starts very promising girl in bed in silk slip than starts to dream and appears on the bed on white satin sheets and tied up but after a few minutes they rip the nightie straight off of her and a normal sex scene takes place.
Do do you remember what movie this is from?
