In addition to Ebay, Amazon has cheap satin sheets. Sometimes liquidation/overstock stores like Ross have complete sets for under $20.00 and you can look at and FEEL them before you buy. I found an exquisite silky satin comforter there once for under $20.00. Cheap satin sheets are usually light and thin poly but lately they seem to be very soft and silky. At least there doesn't seem to be many of the horrible knit satin sheets anymore. They looked OK in pictures but felt like sandpaper on skin.

I had to make it myself, indeed. Just bought the fabric and sewed it with needle and thread.
Here's a picture of my satin condom: it has two ribbons to tie it up and it is lined with soft red satin! Sheer heaven to put it on
