VASCO Collection
Anyone know where to get VASCO Collection satin shirts from?
I used to get them mail order from Paris but that company no longer exists.
They are unbelievable quality and really thick satin material, unlike a lot of the rubbish I have seen, which you could almost tear.
Would really love to know.
Love,

P.S.: You can see my satin on my Facebook page: Melanie Satin-Blouse

Re: VASCO Collection
Can you tell me where these are made?
I have contacted the seller, Laurie Esther, and he wont post to me. Reason being that the shirts on display are not acurate pictures. What you get is different to the pictures.
I complained to eBay as this is against their rules under 'misrepresentation of goods.'
So now he wont deal with me.
So, where else can I get these shirts from, because he or his online outlet (Maxime Fashion) doesn't actually make them!

Re: VASCO Collection
I can maybe help or at least provide some information you may find interesting...
His address points to a road near Paris Gard Du Nord station. The street is full of cheap mens fashion shops - I was in Paris during October and decided to check this street out in the hope of adding to my collection of Satin shirts. I wasn't disappointed! Shop after shop of mens suit shops, pretty much with them all stocking one brand of satin shirt or another, for around 20 to 30 euros each - I bought five!
I believe these shops source from one supplier who swaps the brands they supply around every now and then, much like how the shops in Wood Green, Dalston and Peckham in London tend to sell Satin shirts from various brands such as Robelli. I went to this street in the hope of finding some Vasco Satin shirts as like you have pointed out the quality of them are thicker than the typical polyester satin shirt. I did find some! But not many. Out of the 10+ shops selling Satin shirts nearly all stocked one or two brands with Vasco appearing in maybe only two of the 10 shops, and even then the shirts were in short supply... so the one I remember was a dark purple, but in a smaller size than I wear, where his other dark purples he stocked were all of another brand entirely. I actually asked one of the owners and he said he had no more out back. The other shop I recall selling Vasco satin shirts had them in the window showing all the colours they stock but the ones on shelf inside the store weren't Vasco (I'm sure he would have sold the one in the window to me had I made a fuss but again unfortunately they weren't in my size).
As it happens I have a VERY large collection of Satin shirts - 50+ or so. I own at least one Satin shirt from pretty much all the manufacturers being sold on sites like eBay, Karl Knox, Robelli, Daniel Ellesse etc. I can't resist buying them, but alas rarely have the occasion to wear them, maybe I get to wear one once every 2 months, at a party or something. Accordingly I have so many new with tag never worn shirts. I'm considering selling them. Its a waste to have them sitting there...
... I actually have Vasco brown in Large and a Silver in XL, brand new with tags. They've never been worn but I'm not sure if I want to part with them. Cheaper thinner polyester Satin shirts seem more common, as you pointed out the thicker vasco type ones, well of all my collection, pretty much the only ones. But I'll let you know first if I do. Its a large stock I have so I'm considering how best to approach selling them.
In the meantime maybe get the next Eurostar to Paris, 2 hours from London and only £69.
Cheers.

Re: VASCO Collection
Ive just been on google maps trying to locate exactly which shop had the Vasco shirts in the window. I'm fairly sure it was...
L'Empire Du Marié
- which is located 149 Boulevard de Magenta.
or maybe Jonus at 156.
It was definitely that side of the road and within about 4 shops either side. I was there literally a month ago.
So you could look up their details on google maps and maybe give the shop a call and see if they would send you one. They all spoke English. Just make sure you tell him to check the shirts in the window. Weird request sure but I distinctly remember this guy having no Vasco satin shirts on the shelf, and just other brand satin shirts.
Anyway I've given you probably far too much info. Good luck in the hunt!

Re: VASCO Collection
Great reply, Lemon Womble!
Yes, just been to have a look at his shop on eBay and the shop address seems to have disappeared????
I may go over to Paris to have a look at these shirts.
If they are available in Wodd Green, let me know where!
These are of such good quality they feel so good when on. Superb when ironed with a nice crease down the sleeve!
Kind regards,
Mark

Re: VASCO Collection
No Vasco ones in wood green I'm afraid, only seem those in Paris.
The shop Land of Leather in wood green has Satin shirts in their basement, "Don Pino" ones, these style ones listed on amazon and eBay:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Italian-Design- ... B007PPA8S2
They are actually very silky and nice those ones. A light weight satin. He also has some of the Robelli ones.
Down in Walworth Road theres a shop called Michael Leigh's Beefy Boys which stocks a massive amount of shirts, including some Satin ones. The ones by Carlo Bellini (I think thats the spelling) are very thick and decent quality - some of the best and mirror the Vasco ones for sheer weight.
Robelli in Dalston has an excellent set of Satin shirts that he also sells on eBay. A shop opposite his has some new Satin shirt sets in that I've yet to own, they are above the counter so I was unable to feel to see the quality. A shop called Review just down from Robelli stocks the same Carlo Bellini ones that Walworth road has.
Theres actually a couple of other shops on Dalston selling Satin shirts so definitely worth checking that street out.
Dalston
Walworth Road
Peckham
Wood Green
in that order seem to the places I've found in London selling these sort of shirts.

Re: VASCO Collection
I have struggled to search anywhere on Google for Carlo Bellini. I could do to see the quality of these shirts as only VASCO appear to be the best. Don Pino are rubbish - not my cup of tea!!!lemonwomble wrote:

Hi,
Here is one of those ones...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270825944704?hlp=false
The material is amazing and very heavy. They sell these in Dalston at that Review place I mentioned earlier and in Walworth, in both a collar styles.
