Satin in fashion...

Post by SatinTom »

Satin really doesn't seem very fashionable with women let alone men for the last few years. It's very difficult to find anything on the highstreet except from the occasional items, ladies nightwear or underwear. The last time I remember satin being fashionable was satin cargo pants for women about 8-10 years ago. I yearn for the day when i can go into department shop and see satin pjs, boxers, briefs for men let alone shirts, trousers etc and thats before I stubble into the women's section! I was born in 86 but I always had the impression that the 70s ad 80s were satins fashion heyday, I want those days to return lol!

Online shopping is good for but there is nothing like the thrill of buying satin in person. :D

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with British women, they seem to totally dislike wearing satin. I have only ONCE seen a girl in my town walking down the street wearing a satin shirt, it was cerise pink, unfortunately the effect was spoiled by the waistcoat she was wearing over it. About 25 years ago satin tops came into fashion for a very short period, and they were in that thin patterned polyester. It would be great to see a pub full of girls wearing top quality acetate satin shirts, dresses and skirts. At the moment it seems the best dressed girls are in Eastern Europe, possible encouraged by the Eromaxx site.

Here in Brussels you can buy satin clothing for men ,very shiny and acetate satin, suits and shirts.I found some small shops (not big mark-chains) who sell satin for men.
I can say in Brussels ,not often, but quit ,I see women wearing satin, tops, skirts and trousers!
I wear my satin clothing, hoping to make men buying and wearing satin too!
I lik to wear it often, very shiny and so smooth !

Hmm maybe it's a British fashion thing then? I hope it changed soon though!

Most British women simply dress like slobs. I find the vast majority totally unattractive. Half the time they dress no differently to men.

The only time they do dress up it is to go out drinking and then they all seem to dress like hookers, which may appeal to some men but not me.

Having said that, I have liked the recent trend for them wearing maxi dresses out, although most of those dresses are made from very uninspiring fabrics. Tatra.

Everything comes back around in fashion (for men and women)eventually as there are only so many styles and fabrics to wear.Around 1995 satin shirts for men were quite popular, So just bide your time satinTom. In New Zealand satin boxers for men and women are easy to buy in just about any department store, but when I visited England this year , i noticed none, except in the old british shop C & A in Paris, was the only place I saw them and yes I did see a few mens satin shirts in small shops in Brussels.(what amazing old buildings there were there, but women dont walk around in high heels there on the cobble!or youll lose your heel). In Amsterdam at the "Dam" shopping centre mall there was mens black satin suits for 449euro.I didnt have enough room to bring back unfortunately. It was really sexy suit.I am quite lucky to live in Nz as although we are a long way from other countries, women here wear satin clothing quite regularly, particulary shirts/blouses, so I get good views. :D

I think the real problem with British women is that they blindly follow the fashion industry, if they say wear this then they all follow like sheep. Why can't they just wear what looks good ( anything satin) and ignore what the so called fashion guru's say.
Come on British girls, go shiny.

I agree with you my friends
Satin is not also in fashion in India now a days.. It was in the year 2001-2003 satin suits & salwars were selling like hot cakes but now now satin is just used in marriage for the bride's clothes.
