Does anyone else here appreciate just how obsessed Princess Diana was with her extravagant silk satins?
She made no secret of how much she loved this wonderful material did she?

The dark pink dress with jacket looks interesting, it's a shame the photo does not show the full length of the dress, a full skirt in that weight of satin is going to be awesome. Diana had some incredible satin outfits, I wonder what happened to them. The white Chinese style style dress looks good, a lighter satin but a good rich shine.

Have to agree with seasideshow on the quality of
her gowns. The light pink with white collar, the cream gown on the chair
the dark pink gown and possibly the green gown are made from high count
silk satin @ around £90.00 per metre. You think 40s satin is good this quality of satin
would blow your mind permenantly. Had an offcut once a couple of years ago, just so
wish I could try it again, but out of my league unfortunately

79 of Dianas evening dresses and ballgowns were famously auctioned off in '97 but that left A LOT unaccounted for didnt it?
