Do you think satin menswear looks gay? Please post your arguments.
While I personally I think that satin menswear looks gay, I wouldn’t mind wearing some, even though I’m straight. My opinion might stem from the fact that in western societies, you rarely see any men in satin. Most of the time only women wear satin.

Re: Do you think satin menswear looks gay?
Maybe.
I'd love to wear satin, especially satin undies.
Many people could think I'm gay...I'm not gay

Definitely not!
I love my guys to wear satin, it's so delightfully feelthrough!
Preferably satin boxers, but they're almost impossible to get these days.
Alternatively satin running shorts, which I also like wearing myself.

Re: Do you think satin menswear looks gay?
i wore a purple mens satin dress shirt and matching tie under a black waistcoat with black trousers to a wedding recently. All the comments I got were postive, and I didnt feel gay,but I think it s about having the right accompaning clothes, like Black dress trousers or a dark suit to pull off wearing mens satin outer wear. Its a pity more guys don t have the courage to wear satin shirts with a suit or blazer jacket.I was a bit self concious about my satin shirts at first so I went for BLACK and NAVY first up under a suit until i felt more comfortable in brighter colours. You can always wear a dark waistcoat over a satin shirt like I do sometimes if you feel unsure. With mens satin shirts I feel they look best when dressed up other clothes are on.As for mens satin boxers, loads of guys in New Zealand wear them regardless of how macho they are. They can be bought so easily at any mens clothing store.I ve got 27pairs and I reckon ladies still find a good fitting pair sexy on a man.

Hi Sealion,
Yeah, you're right about only wearing black or navy satin shirts. They're less obvious.
Here's a pic of me in a silver-grey one (with dark jeans and studded belt) but I wouldn't feel confident wearing it into the office yet! Maybe on a late shift!

BTW, I am over 18! The emo hairstyle makes me looks younger than I really am! Also I'm not really that fat (the shirt is about two sizes too big) and my body isn't really abnormally long (I'm wearing the jeans on my hips).
I love the colour purple. Your purple satin shirt must look great!

hi Damon, that silver is nice colour though, especially with dark jeans, good contrast of colours. I will try and get a photo of me in my purple satin shirt I wore to wedding and post on site,if possible. my digital camera got nicked recently,so I will have to get a friend to do photo. Damon, if you want a purple satin shirt for yourself or any other colour go to contemposuits.com thats where I got it.I have bought 4 others from there. Its a safe site and my shirts arrived from Connecticuit in 7-10 days. You been in UK , should be even less time.Order by collar size. $27.99US plus freight.Let me know how you get on if you decide to get one or two.

Hi Sealion,
Thanks for the tip about contemposuits but the ones from MAXIME-STYLE are a thousand times better. I've tried both and the difference is staggering! MAXIME-STYLE is more expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. The quality of the satin is in a different league - and gorgeous to touch! See my post here: http://forum.mysatin.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30
He only seems to post to Europe but perhaps you have a friend here who could post it on?

Re: Do you think satin menswear looks gay?
My usual garb around the house is a satin man's dress shirt and a pair of old school Frederick's of Hollywood style spandex jeans, and about 9 out of 10 people who visit us for the first time will pull my room-mate aside and ask her, "Is he gay?" Whatever! They just wish their ass will still look good in spandex when they're 49 years young!
