Thread content and forum etiquette [title edited]
[edit: message edited]
I post on quite a number of non subject related forums and bulletin/message boards around the net where you are able to post what you like, wherever you like beginning new threads or continuing a previous one.

A forum of one is still a forum.SatinTom wrote:Freddie, one person doesn't make a forum. If you truly believe that don't you think that's a bit sad....
I guess I'm sad, then.

Just to clarify for Admin who may not have viewed public chat this evening. FreddieLinton is under some impression that folk here hate him and want him gone. I'd like to make it very clear now, that is definitely NOT the case. All I ask and I suspect I echo the thoughts of many on here, is that he keeps his opinions regarding forum etiquette to himself and cuts the trolling behaviour out, its pissing me right off and I will not tolerate it any longer.
Lighten up!!!! Live and let live! Peace be amongst you

Would you call this a discussion?SatinTom wrote:A forum by definition needs discussion.
Seems more like an interrogation to me.
It's very hard to discuss a matter when cleary no one in this current thread is on my side. I know I'm not the only one who doesn't want to see this place cluttered up, but I can't be the voice for everyone here. I'm just tired of fighting by myself. I don't agree with any of this, especially on creating a thread designed for people to vote get rid of someone. I may have had my rough patches (or whatever you'd like to call them) with folks over the years, and I have been a lot calmer for quite a while here now. But I would never make a thread like this one. Never. I don't consider asking members to post things in the right place as trolling. I just see it as common sense. Maybe I do spend too much time here. Maybe this forum means a lot to me, and I just want it to be the best it can be. Maybe I am lonely. Maybe I am frustrated. I need to realize, against my better judgement, that there are some things you just can't change. I have no authority here, but I act like I do because I care. I know that sounds retarded. I wish people would post things where they should go, but I can't force them. I have to stop caring. And that's really hard for me to do here. So do what you want. Antagonize me all you want. It's my own fault I'm hated so much here. Post where you want, do whatever. I don't agree with it, but I have to let go. I just don't care anymore. You probably won't see me for a while, not that anyone cares, but that's what needs to happen.
These are my final words on the subject.
Re: FAO Forum Admin & Users re; Freddie Linton aka Forum Tro
Here's where I stand. I'm in agreement with Freddie. People absolutely "should" browse through the threads to find the appropriate thread to post on....instead of being so quick to create a new thread. Which more times than not, is redundant, pointless, and a waste of space...leading to cluttering. It truly can start to get annoying, so I understand the source of Freddie's dismay.
When I joined Satinforum less than 1 1/2 years ago there were no more than 7 pages of threads. Now there are 20 pages.
In just the past ONE YEAR alone, 10 pages of threads have been created....which is equal to as many pages that were made in the six years prior. You can check this for yourself.
The cluttering is real!
I don't blame anyone, except for the moderators of this forum. It is their job to delete and move threads where appropriate.

If it goes the way you prefer, it will eventually die, the same way many similar forums have gone before it....mark my words! I have seen too many times!
My advice would be to leave well alone!

If Freddie goes then I go along with all my posts which would make the biggest thread on this forum almost disappear
Is it really too much to ask for users to have a scroll or search for threads that are already there to post in rather than having threads with a couple posts dotted all over the place?
And Freddie is right, up until he joined this forum was very very quiet with next to no input! I signed up only a few months before he did and it was because of his threads that he created that I started to post more!
So I'd think on that before you go trying to get did of one of the most active members!
