For all of you people dissatisfied with the amount of replies you get to your posts, check out the posts of Titus on "post your satin collection" thread.

He is a guy who has been a member for over a year and has only made 3 posts, 2 of them in the last 24 hrs. Does that make him a "free loading bad member"?

He says that he has enjoyed lots of the posts/pics but clearly has some issues himself. He is exactly the sort of person that I feel would lose out if all of you "prolific" posters went off and formed your own little club.

When you start your threads, post your pics and add your posts, who knows how many people you inadvertently help? If any of them come on and thank you, look upon it as a bonus.

After "lurking" for over a year Titus has now posted some pics of his present collection. I hope that it signals the start of some more active participation on his part and that it helps him to work out some of his issues.

I guess you could call me one of these "free loaders"? Im a guy who has no access to real satin on real women so im not really in a position to post pics like most of you do for which i am very grateful so I come here to get my fix as im sure many others do. I dont get much time to come here as my mrs. doesnt know that I do come here so only when i have a spare few minutes to visit and I think of it i try my best to come here.

I have been here awhile. I do lurk a bit. Maybe a whole month at a time before I post something. The forum moves very slow so I don't check back frequently.

I absolutely love this forum, I know I am not going anywhere.

I am just too happy that I found this place.

I'm a lurker. Here's why I don't post.

1) 99% of the user-generated content doesn't work for me; as in, it may turn you on, but it doesn't turn me on.
2) When it does work, you get a PM directly from me. Two of you know what I'm talking about.

Exclusive communities work, but only if everyone is a producer and everyone has a shared interest. Silk/satin is so much of a niche fetish that trying to build an exclusive club will fail. I've seen it happen time and again.

You're just going to have to live with lurkers like me

I think this forum would work much better if you could only view the General Chat index after you have joined and posted 10 posts in the other indexes.

I agree, or something like that....for the 1629 members on this forum, there seems to be only a small handful that reply/post. I myself certainly don't mind contributing, but more overall feedback would be appreciated. There are obviously viewers that must be interested in the contents of the various post...the "viewed" numbers prove it.

Maybe set it up to where viewers can browse the forum, but have to post x number of times before they can download pics, view links, etc. It would be interesting to see how many of our attachments ARE downloaded.

My thoughts exactly stainer,I'm sure I've seen that system on another forum.Let's be honest,it takes time to put a post together but only a few seconds to type a short reply.

I believe members would be more inclined to post if they got feedback on their posts,I know I would.Mrs W & I have decided not to post any more of our intimate pics on here...what's the point,we get loads of views but very little feedback so no doubt the guy's who look at the pics get something out of it but we get very little

lol a yahoo group for prolific posters?? Good luck with that...that group would contain about 5 members and each of them would be bored to death of each other after day one.

I dunno where to even begin. But I'll say this. Just because you are a prolific poster, does not make you a "great" poster, or any better than someone who hardly posts. As tatra mentioned, no one wants to see a forum filled with a bunch of one-liners. Content matters.

And you cannot really fault those for not wanting to post. A person will only post if they feel compelled to do so. I skim past threads everyday without posting, either because I'm feeling lazy or I am flat out uninterested.
And keep in mind, in a forum that is as small as this (1700 TOTAL registered users is a VERY VERY SMALL number)....the natural order of things is there will be VERY FEW posts. At any given moment there are only on average 10-20 users online. Compare that to other sites like Espn where there are probably like 50,000+ browsing it at any given moment. Don't even get me started on fb or twitter. Take that into perspective.

Now in regards to the posting of content....I do have an issue with users who tell elaborate stories about cumming on pretty dress or whatever, yet don't have any pictures to show for it. Post the damn pictures!

I'm reminded of the "80-20" rule that apparently crops up all over the place. In this particular case it would suggest something along the lines of 20% of members ending up making 80% of the posts.

A simple "thanks" button might help.

It seems to me there are many different types of users of this forum.

Some don't even register, and just flick through the posts looking for any nice pics that they can download and add to their no doubt already huge collection, with the forum just one stop off point on a round robin tour of the satin fetish sites.

There are others who are just discovering satin and are genuinely interested to read about other's experience with the fetish, perhaps taking great comfort from the knowledge that that they are not alone in the thoughts that may feel a little "abnormal" to them, and realising that what they are feeling is normal ( whatever normal is ... )

Others like to use it as a springboard for their fantasies, describing things that they would like to do as though they are real, the effect enhanced if they are lucky enough to reel someone else in and exchange banter about it.

Others use it as a release.
Bottling things up inside is bad, and writing stuff down and sharing it can act as a form of release.
I have no doubt that many of the posts on here are 100% sincere and genuine.

I also feel that, despite all our technology and the complexities and subtelties of modern life, we are all still animals, and one of the basic driving instincts is to reproduce.
It follows that anything related to sexual reproduction, which with many of us becomes inextricably linked with a satin fetish, becomes a strong part of our ethos, and something we have to act on or deal with.

Perhaps this is all just pycho babble.
I am no expert.
It is just my own view, and perhaps helps to explain why the forum is the way that it is.

Form an elite area when only those with enough posts can go?

im actually looking at the creation of a complelty new forum, with a paying (well maybe not paying, but high contributing) members area, so in that area you would get more and exclusive to that area content, stuff not posted in the main areas.

obviously im still looking into atm, this is one reason i dont post pics of people i have, and i have many candid sets of girls, friends etc.

will talk to hte mods and see if im allowed to post a link if i get it up and running
