I was going through some old family photographs with my sister at the weekend and came across this.




She took it way back in 1978, yes, you heard right 1978 !
I can remember it vividly, but thought the photo had long since been lost until yesterday.

The girl in the photo is called Charnelle and she had come to tea with a friend of my mother's.
And before any one asks, yes, we were both "of age", by a long way.

My sister took the picture and I knew nothing about it until the reel of film was finished off and developed a few weeks later after a weekend trip away. Needless to say I was not pleased at the time, but I am really glad to have a record of it now.

Anyway, I had always liked satin, so when Charnelle unexpectedly pitched up for tea one day wearing that blouse I was more than a little interested. Satin blouses were much more common back then, and the style and softness of the fabric was amazing.

Seeing Charnelle in that blouse drove me frantic, so much so that after more than an hour staring at her, getting more and more worked up, I couldn't contain my frustration any longer and managed to come up with a ruse to get her alone in the kitchen, which unfortunately my sister latched on to and grabbed the camera to capture it.

I was totally blown away as I let my hands slide all over her blouse. I really cannot describe in words how awesome it felt, but I am sure all of you who have been there will understand.

Poor girl didn't know what had hit her, and as you can see in the photo she just stood there and took it, slightly bemused and not knowing quite how to react.

Just to mention as well that there was no coercion involved. No it was not my first time, but I can still remember it.

I managed to find two more old pics.

These are two family friends taken one christams.
The girl on the right is called Muriel but I can't remember the name of the other girl.
I usually managed to cop a feel one way or another when I was around blouses like that but on that occasion I was stumped.
I didnt really know either of them well enough.
A very regretful missed opportunity.



The lady in the middle is my Aunt Jayne and I know the blouse very well.
But that is another story .....

So here is another I found.
Not sure there are any more.

This is a lady called Anne who stayed with us one christmas.

I was real careful not to leave any evidence on the blouse. I had had lots of practice with my Ma's and sister's stuff to not do that.
