First post and I'm not really sure if this is the correct thread for it or not, but anyway...

I really want to become a member of your site, but there is one thing which is holding me back - the fact that I don't feel I will be getting value for money from the membership.

$32 seems very, very expensive when there is less than three updates per month; when the site started there was an update every few days but this has lengthened to over a week between new sets being posted. Considering the monthly cost to join, I feel this is unacceptable.

Every other fetish sites I am or have been a member of offer 4 or 5 updates a week for less than $25 per month!! That works out at much better VFM.

I said, I would really love to join your site but until the cost of membership goes down or the number of updates increase, I'm afraid I'll have to stay away.

Would be interested for your and other peoples thoughts on this matter...

Thanks for your message, I'm sorry to hear that you don't think that you would get value for money if you signed up as a member to mysatin.com I think an explanation may help to illustrate the reasoning behind how often we update, and how we price member access to the website.

Currently we update the site at least four times per month (it's in the join FAQ somewhere), I'm not sure in which month you are referring that we have updated less that this? This works out at around one set per seven/eight days depending on the length of the month. We both have full time jobs and work on mysatin.com in our spare time - we would both like to work on it full time, but unfortunately the economics don't work out for us at the moment (we need to pay the bills somehow!)

In the beginning we were able to produce more sets as we were simply shooting photo only sets. Due to popular demand we starting shooting video content - unfortunately this is very time consuming to post-process (yes there are some pretty whacky outtakes that we plan to show at some time! ). We think the video content really adds to the site and think that we have done the right thing to devote the time to producing the video content - we are aiming to shoot video content for most of the new sets we do. Hopefully you agree that the video content is a step in the right direction

The companies that can provide four or five updates a week can do so using several techniques that we are unable to match
* economies of scale - these are big companies that work on these projects full time - they are almost always running more than one website and will have full time staff producing content, updating websites, answering emails, etc. The overheads are lower this way (less spent on models/wardrobe/photograpers/hosting/etc)
* content that is dragged out over several sets - for example, part one of a set comes on Monday, part two on Tuesday, etc, or by producing small sets that are show to cover several sites/niches at one time (eg, shoot 20 minutes of content, split it into four videos of five minutes each, feet/pantyhose/satin/lebian niche websites)
* purchasing stock footage - some websites make up their content by reselling (non-exclusive) sets purchased from producers
* covering several niches at once, not just the specific one you are interested in. If only one of the five updates per week were stuff you were really interested in, is it still good value for money?

On the other hand with mysatin.com you know that you are not dealing with a faceless corporation, you know that Ninie is real, and that she is not some paid actress pretending to enjoy the touch and feel of the satin. Our prices are based around £15.95 for member access for one month, there are various reasons for this price which I will not go into here, but the US dollar price for access is a exchange rate conversion of this price - unfortunately the US dollar is fairly weak at the moment, which leads to the current price of $31.95 for access outside the United Kingdom. However, even a price of $31.95 remains on par with many other adult entertainment websites.

I'm sorry you don't want to be a member today, but we'll be working on more content so hopefully it will become worth your while joining in the near future. In the meantime, you can enjoy the free content we post on our website - around 20 minutes of video content currently, and a whole bunch of photos. Ninie I totally understand how difficult it is to run a website yourself and appreciate that you indulge us with your satin fetish.

I would echo the price issue a little. It's probably worth considering that having a high price per month (anything more than $10-$15 a month) might prevent people from signing up as well as prevent repeat signups (with people choosing to join every few months rather than a recurring subscription as the cost are too high).

Perhaps a partial solution is to offer a lower priced longer subscription (say for 6 months) which would encourage members to stick around for longer and get them feel they're getting a better deal?

My guess is that the only people who post stuff in the forum are people who want something to change. I suspect that the majority of members would like the site to stay much as it is, since they obviously liked what they saw when they signed up. I'm one of those.
